Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport has broken its record for flower exports during the 2024 Mother's Day season. The airport processed 24,377 metric tons of flowers, a significant 14% increase over the previous year. This massive operation involved 455 dedicated cargo flights departing between mid-April and early May. The primary destinations for the Ecuadorian flowers were major hubs in the United States and Europe, including Miami and Amsterdam.
