Quito Airport Sets New Record for Mother's Day Flower Exports
Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport has broken its record for flower exports during the 2024 Mother's Day season. The airport managed the shipment of 25,662 metric tons of flowers between April 15 and May 5. This represents a significant 13% increase compared to the 22,668 tons exported during the same period in 2023. A total of 475 cargo flights were required to transport the flowers, which were primarily destined for markets in Europe and the United States. This logistical success highlights the airport's efficiency as a key cargo hub in Latin America.
