Qantas Unveils Custom Crew Rest Areas for 22-Hour 'Project Sunrise' A350 Flights
Qantas has revealed the design of dedicated crew rest areas for its Airbus A350-1000 fleet, specifically configured for the ultra-long-haul 'Project Sunrise' routes. The pilot crew rest compartment is located above the First Class cabin and features two bunks and a recliner seat. For the cabin crew, a separate rest area is situated at the rear of the aircraft, containing six bunks separated by curtains for privacy. These facilities are crucial for managing crew fatigue and ensuring safety on non-stop flights of up to 22 hours, such as Sydney to London and New York. The design is a key part of the custom modifications enabling these record-breaking commercial flights.
