Qantas to Charge 30% Premium for World's Longest Non-Stop Flights
Qantas is preparing to launch its ultra-long-haul 'Project Sunrise' flights connecting Sydney with London and New York starting in 2025. The airline has revealed its strategy to charge a revenue premium of approximately 30% per seat compared to its existing one-stop services. This pricing model is based on the value of time, betting that passengers will pay more to save three to four hours of travel. To justify the higher fares, the specially configured Airbus A350-1000s will feature a low-density layout with over 40% of the cabin dedicated to premium seating. The aircraft will also include a 'Wellbeing Zone' to enhance passenger comfort on the nearly 20-hour journeys.
