Prestwick Airport Marks One-Year Anniversary of China Southern Cargo Service
Glasgow Prestwick Airport is celebrating the first anniversary of its direct cargo link operated by China Southern Cargo. The route, connecting Scotland with Guangzhou, is the only direct main-deck freight service between the two countries. Over the past year, the twice-weekly Boeing 777 freighter service has transported more than 10,000 tonnes of cargo. Key Scottish exports, including salmon, seafood, and oil and gas equipment, have significantly benefited from this direct connection. The success of the route underscores Prestwick's growing importance as a strategic air cargo hub.
