Pilot Walks Away After Small Plane Crashes in Philadelphia Park
A small, single-engine plane crashed in Fluehr Park in Philadelphia's Torresdale neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. The 20-year-old pilot, the sole occupant, reported engine failure shortly after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Unable to return to the airport, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in the park. Remarkably, the pilot sustained only minor injuries and was able to walk away from the wreckage. The Piper PA-28 aircraft sustained significant damage, and the incident is now under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
