Pilot Survives Small Aircraft Crash in Remote Florida Preserve

A pilot has survived the crash of a small aircraft in Martin County, Florida. The single-engine Piper PA-28 went down Sunday morning in the remote Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area. Martin County Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and located the wreckage in the swampy preserve. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was able to walk away with only minor injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for evaluation, and both the FAA and NTSB will investigate the cause of the crash.
