Pilot Radioed Intent to Abort Takeoff Moments Before Crashing in Minnesota Neighborhood
A Cirrus SR22 single-engine plane crashed in a residential area of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, shortly after departing from Crystal Airport. Just moments after takeoff, the pilot radioed air traffic control with the message 'abort, abort, abort.' The aircraft came down in a yard, narrowly missing homes. The two occupants, the pilot and a passenger, sustained only minor injuries and no one on the ground was harmed.
