Pilot Missing, Student Rescued After Flight School Plane Crashes Off Vero Beach Coast
A Piper PA-44 Seminole aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Vero Beach, Florida, on Thursday evening. The plane, which belonged to FlightSafety Academy, was carrying a pilot and a student. A nearby boater rescued the student from the water, who was then hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The U.S. Coast Guard has launched an extensive search and rescue operation for the missing pilot. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.
