Pilot Launches GoFundMe for Aircraft Repairs After I-10 Emergency Landing
A Navy flight student successfully executed an emergency landing on Interstate 10 in Escambia County, Florida, after his plane's engine failed. The pilot, Brockton King, skillfully maneuvered his 1966 Piper Cherokee onto the highway without causing any injuries to himself or motorists. However, the aircraft's right wing was damaged when it clipped a road sign during the landing. King has since started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $6,000 to cover the cost of moving the plane with a crane and repairing the damaged wing.
