Pilot Killed After Single-Engine Plane Crashes Into Maryland Carport

A single-engine Mooney M20J crashed in a residential area of Bowie, Maryland, on Thursday evening. The aircraft struck a carport attached to a home while on approach to Freeway Airport. The pilot, identified as 27-year-old Logan S. Ebersole of Hagerstown, was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured in the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been notified and will lead the investigation into the cause of the fatal crash.
