Pilot Dies in Saratoga County Plane Crash; Federal Authorities Investigating
A pilot has died from injuries sustained in a small plane crash in Saratoga County, New York. The incident occurred on Sunday when a homebuilt, single-engine aircraft went down shortly after taking off from Round Lake Airport in the town of Malta. The pilot, identified as 73-year-old Michael A. Charecky of Gansevoort, was the sole person on board. He was transported to Albany Medical Center where he later passed away. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.
