New Peruvian air cargo carrier, Awesome Cargo, has officially launched its operations. The airline was formed by the former team of the defunct low-cost passenger carrier Viva Air Peru, turning a crisis into a new business opportunity. Awesome Cargo is utilizing two Airbus A330-200 passenger aircraft, temporarily converted into 'preighters' for cargo transport. This strategy allows for a quick market entry while awaiting full freighter conversion slots. The company is targeting key routes to Miami in the United States and Hong Kong and Shanghai in China, aiming to fill a significant gap in the Latin American air freight market.
