Passengers Sue Alaska Airlines and Boeing for $1 Billion Over Mid-Air Blowout
Passengers from the January Alaska Airlines flight have filed a $1 billion lawsuit against both the airline and manufacturer Boeing. The legal action follows the mid-air incident where a door plug panel detached from a Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft shortly after takeoff. Filed in Oregon, the lawsuit alleges negligence by both companies, resulting in significant physical and psychological trauma to those on board. This development comes after a preliminary NTSB report indicated that four crucial bolts were missing from the detached panel. The claim also states the rapid depressurization caused some oxygen masks to malfunction and passengers to suffer injuries.
