Passenger Surge Drives Gatwick Airport to £73 Million Annual Profit
London's Gatwick Airport has announced a significant financial turnaround, posting a pre-tax profit of £72.7 million for the year ending in March. This marks a substantial recovery from the £196.5 million loss recorded in the previous year. The positive result was driven by a strong rebound in travel demand, which saw passenger numbers increase by 15.6% to 41.5 million. Airport management attributed the success to this passenger surge, alongside strong performance in its retail and parking divisions. The airport is also planning a £750 million investment program over the next five years.
