Oman Invites Global Drone and eVTOL Developers for Advanced Air Mobility Demonstrations
Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched an initiative inviting developers of drones and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to participate in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) trials. The demonstrations aim to evaluate the feasibility of services such as medical supply delivery, cargo transport, and passenger mobility across the country. Trials will be conducted in various locations including Muscat, Sohar, and Duqm to test the technology's performance in Oman's diverse geography and climate. This project is a key component of Oman's Vision 2040, which seeks to diversify the economy and establish the nation as a technological hub. The deadline for companies to apply to participate in the AAM Trial Project is July 18, 2024.
