NTSB to Question FAA and Boeing in Investigation of Fatal UPS Cargo Plane Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has scheduled a multi-day investigative hearing into the fatal crash of UPS Flight 1354. The Airbus A300-600 freighter went down on approach to Birmingham, Alabama, on August 14, 2013, killing the two pilots on board. The hearing will question officials from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), UPS, Airbus, and the pilots' union. Investigators are set to focus on key areas including pilot training, crew scheduling, and the design of the aircraft's flight management and ground proximity warning systems.
