NTSB Report: Pilots Cited Dual-Engine Failure in Fatal Lancaster County Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the fatal crash of a Beechcraft Baron 58 in Lancaster County, South Carolina. According to the investigation, the pilots declared an emergency just two minutes after takeoff. The crew reported "losing both engines" to air traffic control while attempting to return to the airport. The twin-engine plane crashed approximately one mile from the runway, striking trees and resulting in a post-impact fire. Both occupants of the aircraft were fatally injured in the accident.
