NTSB Report: Pilot Cited Engine Failure Before Fatal Wimberley Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the fatal Feb. 24 plane crash in Wimberley, Texas. The single-engine Beechcraft V35 Bonanza crash resulted in the deaths of the pilot and his passenger. According to the NTSB, the pilot radioed air traffic control to report a loss of engine power just before the accident. Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft flying low and banking before it descended and crashed. The investigation into the specific cause of the engine failure is ongoing.
