NTSB Report: Fatal Land O' Lakes Plane Crash Followed 30-Second Flight
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its preliminary report on a fatal plane crash in Land O' Lakes, Florida. The investigation found that the Rans S-12XL experimental aircraft was airborne for only about 30 seconds before crashing on May 14. The pilot and sole occupant, 71-year-old Michael Brunn, died in the incident near a private grass airstrip. Data indicates the plane reached an altitude of 140 feet before entering a steep descending left turn. The NTSB's full investigation to determine the cause is ongoing and may take up to two years to complete.
