NTSB Report: Engine Thrust Dropped to Zero in Senator Tim Sheehy's Jet Emergency Landing
A preliminary NTSB report has detailed an in-flight emergency involving Montana State Senator Tim Sheehy. While piloting his vintage Aerovodochody L-39C Albatros jet on November 6, 2023, the engine thrust dropped to zero. The thrust lever became unresponsive, forcing the senator to declare an emergency. Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, successfully executed a dead-stick landing at Gallatin Field Airport in Bozeman. He was the sole occupant and was uninjured, with the aircraft sustaining only a flat tire.
