NTSB: Pilot Killed in Rhode Island T-6 Texan Crash Was on Post-Maintenance Test Flight
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released a preliminary report on the fatal crash of a vintage North American T-6G Texan in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The pilot, Dr. Richard Monis, was killed in the accident near Quonset State Airport. The report confirms the flight was a post-maintenance test flight. Just before the crash, the pilot reported an engine issue and was attempting to return to the airport. The NTSB's investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
