NTSB Opens Public Docket on Boeing 767 Stuck Rudder Pedal Incident
The National Transportation Safety Board has opened a public docket for its investigation into a United Airlines Boeing 767-300 incident. The event occurred on February 6, 2024, at Newark Liberty International Airport when the flight crew experienced a stuck right rudder pedal during the landing rollout. The captain was able to maintain directional control using the nose wheel steering tiller, and the aircraft taxied to the gate safely. A post-incident inspection found a bent coiled spring and a jammed roller in the rudder control system. This public docket contains over 1,500 pages of factual information, though it does not yet include the NTSB's analysis or probable cause.
