NTSB Issues Preliminary Report on Fatal Westerly Test Flight Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary findings on the deadly plane crash in Westerly, Rhode Island. The report indicates the Navion F aircraft was on a test flight following a 100-hour inspection. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot declared an emergency, citing an open door, and attempted to return to the airport. The aircraft subsequently crashed in a wooded area, resulting in one fatality. The NTSB's investigation is ongoing, and a probable cause has not yet been determined.
