NTSB Cites Human Error as Likely Cause in Fatal Londonderry Plane Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the fatal April 28 crash in Londonderry, New Hampshire. The investigation suggests human error was the probable cause of the incident involving a single-engine Beechcraft Sierra C24R. According to the report, the pilot, Emanuel Vomvolakis, failed to extend the landing gear before touching down. After the gear-up landing, the pilot attempted a go-around, during which the aircraft entered an aerodynamic stall and crashed. While the investigation is ongoing, initial evidence points to the pilot's actions as the primary factor.
