Nigeria Suspends Dana Air Operations Indefinitely After Runway Incident
Nigerian aviation authorities have indefinitely suspended the operations of Dana Air. The decision was made after one of the airline's McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft skidded off the runway upon landing at Lagos airport. The flight was carrying 83 passengers, and fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority stated the suspension is to allow for a comprehensive safety and financial audit of the airline. Dana Air has acknowledged the suspension and is cooperating with the authorities.
