New Painting to Immortalize Hagerstown's Fairchild Aviation Legacy
The Washington County Historical Society has commissioned a new painting to celebrate Hagerstown's rich aviation history, centered on the legacy of Fairchild Aircraft. The artwork will be created by historical artist Seth Musser, known for his detailed depictions of significant events. It will feature a collage of iconic Fairchild planes, including the PT-19, C-82, C-119, C-123, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II. This project aims to preserve the memory of Fairchild's significant contributions to the community and the aviation industry. The painting is scheduled to be unveiled at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum's 'Wings & Wheels' event.
