NASA Spacewalkers Prepare ISS for Major Solar Power Upgrade
NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg successfully completed a spacewalk to prepare the International Space Station for a future power system upgrade. The main objective was to install a mounting bracket on the station's starboard truss structure. This hardware is necessary for the upcoming installation of a new ISS Roll-Out Solar Array (iROSA). The new arrays will significantly augment the station's power generation capabilities. This upgrade is critical to support expanded scientific research and future commercial modules aboard the orbiting laboratory.
