NASA Spacewalkers Prepare International Space Station for Final Solar Power Upgrade
NASA astronauts Tracy C. Dyson and Matt Dominick are scheduled to conduct a spacewalk outside the International Space Station. Their primary mission is to remove a faulty radio communications unit and collect microbial samples from the station's exterior. This maintenance is a preparatory step for future power system enhancements. The work will clear the way for the installation of the final two ISS Roll-Out Solar Arrays (iROSAs). These new arrays are part of a long-term project to boost the station's power generation by 20-30%, ensuring its operational capability for years to come.
