Merlin Labs Completes Key Software Review for C-130J Autonomy System
Merlin Labs has successfully passed the first major software review with the U.S. Air Force for its C-130J Super Hercules autonomy system. This milestone, known as the System Requirements Review (SRR), moves the program from the conceptual phase into preliminary design. The autonomous flight system is being developed to reduce crew workload on the transport aircraft, handling complex tasks from takeoff to landing and in-flight emergencies. This progress, achieved in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory, marks a significant step toward enabling a two-person crew and eventually uncrewed operations for the C-130J fleet. The review solidifies the software architecture and requirements for the next stage of development.
