Merlin Labs Completes First FAA Software Review for C-130J Autonomous Flight System
Merlin Labs has successfully passed the first System Requirements Review with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration for its C-130J autonomous flight system. This milestone is a critical step in the company's plan to achieve a supplemental type certificate for the technology. The project, conducted in partnership with the U.S. Air Force, aims to reduce crew workload on the Super Hercules transport aircraft. The Merlin Pilot system is designed to automate all phases of flight, from taxiing to landing. Completing this review ensures the project's development path aligns with FAA certification requirements, paving the way for further testing.
