Australian operator McDermott Aviation has acquired the type certificates for the Bell 214B and twin-engine 214ST helicopters. The company plans to restart production of the powerful utility aircraft, which will be rebranded as the McDermott 214. Manufacturing will take place at McDermott's facility in Queensland, Australia. This move aims to support the existing global fleet and produce new aircraft for roles like aerial firefighting and other special missions.
