Marshall University Aviation Program Secures $2.5 Million in Federal Funding
U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito has secured $2.5 million in federal funding for Marshall University’s Bill Noe Flight School in Charleston, West Virginia. The funding, allocated through a Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) request, will be used to purchase a CRJ-700 regional jet. This aircraft will serve as a static, hands-on training tool for both aspiring pilots and aviation maintenance students. The initiative aims to provide students with experience on modern commercial jet systems and help address the nationwide shortage of pilots and mechanics. The new training asset is expected to significantly enhance the program's capabilities and attract more students.
