Marshall University Aviation Program Awarded $2.5 Million in Federal Funding to Combat Pilot Shortage
U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced a $2.5 million federal funding allocation for Marshall University's aviation program. The funding, secured through a Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) request, is aimed at addressing the national pilot shortage. Marshall University’s Bill Noe Flight School will use the funds to purchase new aircraft for its training fleet. The investment will also support facility upgrades and new equipment at its Yeager Airport base, enhancing the program's capacity to train future pilots.
