Lufthansa Nearing Decision on New Widebody Aircraft Order, CEO Confirms
Lufthansa Group is on the verge of placing another significant order for widebody aircraft, CEO Carsten Spohr has confirmed. The airline is in the final stages of choosing between additional Boeing 787s and Airbus A350s for its long-haul fleet. This move is a central part of the carrier's ongoing fleet modernization and simplification program. The new aircraft are intended to replace older, four-engine jets like the Airbus A340, boosting fuel efficiency. Spohr indicated that a final decision is very close, following intense negotiations with both major manufacturers.
