Lufthansa Cargo Q1 Profit Surges 35% as Middle East Crisis Boosts Air Freight Demand
Lufthansa Cargo has reported a significant 35 percent increase in its first-quarter adjusted EBIT, reaching €273 million. This substantial growth was largely driven by market disruptions in the Middle East, particularly the Red Sea crisis, which shifted freight from sea to air. The airline's revenue also climbed by 15 percent to €927 million, supported by a strong demand from the e-commerce sector. While overall capacity increased by seven percent, the cargo load factor experienced a slight decline. The company projects a full-year adjusted EBIT of over €1 billion, reflecting a positive outlook for the air freight market.
