Loganair Grounds Saab 340 Fleet Over Safety Issue, Disrupting Shetland Services
Scottish airline Loganair has suspended all flights using its Saab 340B aircraft due to a technical safety issue. The problem, related to the de-icing system, was discovered during routine maintenance on the fleet. This precautionary grounding has halted vital "lifeline" air services connecting the Shetland Islands with mainland Scotland. Key routes from Sumburgh to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Kirkwall are affected. Loganair is currently working with the aircraft manufacturer to resolve the issue and is arranging alternative transport for impacted passengers.
