Loganair Cancels 30 Daily Flights to Scottish Islands Amid Maintenance Delays
Scottish airline Loganair has cancelled approximately 30 flights a day, severely disrupting travel to and from the Shetland, Orkney, and Western Isles. The cancellations are a direct result of delays in a major maintenance program for its Saab 340 aircraft fleet. These essential heavy maintenance checks are taking significantly longer than anticipated, leading to a shortage of available planes. Loganair's chief executive has apologized for the disruption, which is expected to continue until mid-May. The airline is currently working to rebook affected passengers on alternative services.
