Lilium to Preserve eVTOL History by Donating Phoenix 2 Prototypes to German Museums
German eVTOL developer Lilium has announced it will donate two of its fifth-generation Phoenix 2 technology demonstrators to two prominent German museums. The aircraft are set to be delivered in 2026 to the Deutsches Museum in Munich and the Sinsheim Technik Museum. These specific prototypes have completed over 250 test flights and are being retired as the company advances to its next development phase. The donation is intended to preserve the early history of electric aviation and showcase German innovation in sustainable flight. The museums will display the aircraft as pioneering examples of the transition to electric air mobility.
