Latin American Air Traffic Surges, Led by Strong Growth in Brazil and Argentina
Passenger traffic across Latin America and the Caribbean grew by 8.4% in April 2024 compared to the previous year, marking 31 consecutive months of growth. The region handled 38.6 million passengers, with Brazil leading the expansion by adding 1.3 million travelers, a 16% increase. Argentina followed with the second-largest gain, posting a 14% rise in passenger numbers despite its economic challenges. While Mexico remains the second-largest market overall, it experienced a slight 1.2% decline in traffic. This sustained growth highlights the robust recovery and expansion of the region's aviation sector.
