Latin America Air Traffic Soars, Led by Strong Growth in Brazil and Argentina
Air traffic across Latin America and the Caribbean surged by 6.3% in April 2024 compared to the previous year, now standing 6.8% above pre-pandemic levels. According to Airports Council International (ACI-LAC), this marks the 31st consecutive month of regional growth. Brazil continued to be the largest market, handling 8.8 million passengers, representing a 5.2% year-over-year increase. However, Argentina recorded the most significant growth rate, with its passenger traffic climbing by an impressive 13.9%. This sustained recovery highlights the robust demand for air travel and strong performance in the region's key economies.
