KLM Hosts 'Girls in Aviation Day' to Inspire Future Female Professionals
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently organized a 'Girls in Aviation Day' for ninety schoolgirls aged 15 to 18. The event aimed to introduce young women to the diverse technical professions available within the aviation sector. Participants visited KLM's Engineering & Maintenance division, including the engine shop, and had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a Boeing 787-10. Female KLM pilots, technicians, and other professionals shared their experiences to encourage the students. The initiative is part of KLM's broader effort to promote diversity and attract more women to technical roles in the industry.
