Kazakhstan Conducts First Passenger eVTOL Flight, Paving Way for Air Taxi Network

Kazakhstan has successfully completed its first-ever passenger flight using an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The demonstration, held at Boraldai airfield, featured a two-seater Chinese-made EHang EH216-S. This flight marks a significant milestone in the country's ambition to develop an urban air mobility system. Following the event, aviation authorities signed a memorandum with EHang to certify the aircraft and integrate air taxis into Kazakhstan's airspace. The autonomous drone flew a seven-kilometer route, signaling the start of a new era in the nation's transportation.
