Johnson Matthey Selected for Landmark e-SAF Plant in South Africa
Phelan Green Energy has chosen Johnson Matthey as the technology provider for its new electro-sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) plant in Coega, South Africa. The facility will leverage Johnson Matthey's advanced HyCOgen and Fischer Tropsch technologies. This process will convert green hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide into sustainable fuel for the aviation sector. The landmark project, powered by a dedicated 300MW solar farm, represents a major step in South Africa's efforts to decarbonise air travel and contribute to the global supply of SAF.
