Jet Suit Paramedic Slashes Mountain Rescue Times in UK Trial
A trial in England's Lake District has successfully demonstrated the potential of jet suits in emergency medical response. The simulation, involving the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), saw a paramedic use a Gravity Industries jet suit to fly to a simulated casualty. The paramedic reached the remote mountainside location in just three and a half minutes. This dramatically reduced the response time, as the same journey would have taken 25 minutes by car and on foot. The technology enables a first responder to carry critical medical equipment and begin treatment long before a traditional team could arrive.
