Jersey Airport: No Major Incident Declared Over RAAC Concrete Discovery
Jersey's government has voted against declaring a major incident at the island's airport following the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in the terminal roof. The CEO of Ports of Jersey, Matt Thomas, stated that the material is in a non-load-bearing section and poses no immediate risk to passengers or staff. He argued that declaring a major incident would be an overreaction and cause unnecessary alarm. The airport remains fully operational while the situation is being managed.
