Israel's Colugo Developing Heavy-Lift Hybrid-Electric eVTOL Cargo Drone
Israeli startup Colugo is developing a heavy-lift autonomous eVTOL drone for the logistics market. The aircraft is designed to carry a payload of 250 kg (550 lb.) over a range of 400 km (250 mi.). It features a unique 'relaxed quadcopter' configuration with a large central cargo pod for aerodynamic efficiency. Powered by a hybrid-electric powertrain, the drone aims to serve the middle-mile and last-mile delivery sectors. The company has already flown a half-scale prototype and is progressing toward a full-scale demonstrator.
