Iran's IRGC Claims Downing of US MQ-1 Predator Drone
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced it has shot down a U.S. military drone in the southwestern province of Khuzestan. According to an IRGC commander, the unmanned aerial vehicle was identified as an MQ-1 Predator. The official stated the drone had violated Iranian airspace. This action was described as a clear message and follows a similar incident where the IRGC downed a U.S. Global Hawk drone in June.
