Iranian National Arrested at LAX in Alleged Weapons Trafficking Plot for Iran
An Iranian national and US resident, Anoushirvan Fakhran, has been arrested by the FBI at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). He faces federal charges for allegedly conspiring to smuggle military-grade weapons and equipment from the United States to Iran. The indictment claims Fakhran planned to export items including M4 rifles, night-vision goggles, and body armor. The alleged scheme involved concealing the weapons within a shipment of household goods to be transported on a commercial airline flight. Federal prosecutors state the plot was uncovered with the help of an undercover FBI agent posing as an arms supplier.
