Industry Briefs: GE Aerospace Assesses New Engine Issue, Spirit AeroSystems Appoints Interim CEO
GE Aerospace has stated it does not expect a significant financial impact in the first quarter from a new powder metal issue affecting CFM Leap engines. In a major leadership change, Spirit AeroSystems appointed former Boeing executive Pat Shanahan as its interim President and CEO amid ongoing quality scrutiny. The latest monthly data shows Airbus delivered 63 aircraft and secured 137 gross orders in March. In comparison, Boeing reported 29 deliveries and 113 gross orders for the same period. Additionally, eVTOL developer Joby Aviation has successfully completed the third stage of its FAA certification process, marking a significant milestone.
